Family-run Hotel in the Lienz Dolomites Area - East Tyrol - Lienz
The Gasthaus that become a popular holiday hotel
Our hotel in the Dolomite Alps in East Tyrol can look back on an eventful, almost 90-year history. Without a doubt: Hospitality has always been a priority for the Laserz crew/hosts! We look forward to your visit and we certainly have an open ear for the wishes of our guests.
Family business since 1929
The inn Laserz was built between 1927 and 1929 by Aloisia and Josef Amort. It opened its doors in the summer of 1929. The location was deliberately chosen because now the house is situated directly on the way to the lake Tristachersee. Initially, the inn only welcomed its guests during the summer months, but as of 1936 it was open all year.
Laserz - the mountain massive - in the Lienz Dolomites
Because of his love for the mountains, Josef Amort, chose the name "Laserz". The name "Laserz" derives from a mountain massive in the Lienz Dolomites. Josef had previously run the "Karlsbader Hütte" with his wife Aloisia. On the foot path between "Laserz" and the "Karlsbader Hütte" a spot for a new hut was searched. 1936, on his favourite resting place he built the "Dolomitenhütte".
Tenant of the "Glocknerhaus"
In 1950 Josef Amort and his son Albert rented the "Glocknerhaus" from The Austrian Alpine Club, section Klagenfurt, on the Franz-Josefs-Höhe. Until 1998, the "Glocknerhaus" was run by the family.
The next generation
In 1972, Albert amort and his wife Helene (née Gruber from the hotel "Defreggerhof" at the Iselsberg Pass) took over the Pension "Laserz"; renovated extensively and forward-looking with indoor swimming pool and tennis court.
The holiday hotel and the Koller family today
In 1989, Astrid Koller (née Amort) took over the hotel. With her husband Alois she runs the place in the third generation. The hotel has been and will always be adapted to the diverse need of its guests. Today, the hotel combines modern comforts with traditional hospitality for a special holiday experience.
